Seaweed Barriers

Seaweed barriers are floating systems used to control the movement and accumulation of sargassum and other floating seaweed in coastal waters. Positioned between incoming seaweed and the area being protected, they can help contain or redirect the floating material before it reaches beaches, waterfront areas, water intakes or other designated locations. The barrier configuration can be adapted to the site and the way seaweed is expected to move with local currents, waves and wind.
